Horse Lovers Camp
Horse Lovers Camp is a week long overnight camp for horse lovers! Every camper is assigned their own horse to care for for the entire week. They will learn the joys of bonding with one animal as well as the not so glamorous side of daily horse care! Our Campground this year will again include large, spacious tents equipped with cots, lighting and a campfire ring. Meals & Indoor showers are provided. The cost of the Horse Lovers Camp is $750/week.
A sample day at Horse Lovers Camp
7:00 am –Reveille
8:00 am – all campers meet in the barn to feed their horses
8:30 am – breakfast
8:50 am – campers clean their tents & organize their belongings
9:10 am – AM Pow-Wow –discuss goals for the day, single out teams for kudos
9:25 am – Group A – Riding Lesson
– Group B – Stall Detail
10:30 am – Group A – Stall Detail
– Group B – Riding Lesson
11:30 am – Scavenger Hunt
12:00 pm – Lunch
12:30 pm – Stable Management Lesson – first aid
1:00 pm – All campers take their horses to the arena for Trail Ride
2:30 pm – Campers return horses to barn to unsaddle & groom
2:45 pm – Campers proceed to pool for swim time
3:45 pm – Campers get out of the pool & dressed
3:45 pm – snack time
4:00 pm – free time – campers settle into their tents, rest, read, play games etc.
5:00 pm – all campers meet in the barn for evening chores – feeding, cleaning & watering
6:00 pm – Dinner
6:30 pm – Movie time – Secretariat, Wild Hearts Can’t be Broken, Dreamer, Sylvester etc.
8:00 pm – Campfire time – s’mores, songs, stories
9:00 pm – bedtime
10:00 pm – lights out
